The photo above from Evolution Revolution (taken by us at SeattleFoodTruck.com) was AMAZING! The Lomito - Grilled wagyu eye of round steak, sunny side egg, ham, provolone, tomato, arugula and chimichurri on a telera roll. Highly recommend a stop if you're in the Seattle area!

Council Chairman is apparently, pretty ignorant. How do these people get into power and still be this dumb? Politicians...I forgot. Honestly, how is anyone who is this clueless allowed to make rules over anything or anyone? Make the food at home? Oy

Great review, Jenny! I used to live in Seattle and visited Where Ya At Matt at a farmer's market once or twice. It's super good! Hilarious comment about selling a loan officer on opening a food truck in Seattle... surprisingly there are tons of food trucks in Seattle now. The scene is growing!

Other campuses across the country have had food trucks for years (look at the now famous "grease trucks" at Rutgers), UCR needs to get with the times and listen to the will of the students. The students need to eat cheaply, quickly, and well. Food trucks provide all that. I don't understand all the ridiculous regulations, these days food trucks are more hygenic than restaurants that have food in freezers sitting around for goodness knows how long. Food trucks have fresher food, move the food faster, and many vendors know exactly where their food is coming from, choosing organic farm to table options.

If brick and mortar places are paranoid about competition, maybe they need to step up their game, or do the smart thing and partner with a food truck. And local governments need to stop regulating these things to death and learn to work with businesses that are essentially bringing jobs and money to the economy. They are two different types of eating experiences, sometimes people want to sit down and be served, and sometimes people wanna grab something on the go. Both types can co-exist.

Oh I don't know..why would you want anything in your city that could bring in new jobs and new revenue for the city? Good lord, maybe the restaurants that are "struggling" need to rethink their food or their staff, or the way they do business? There are brick and mortar places that are doing the smart thing and partnering with food trucks in various ways. Both can co-exist in a city because they are different ways of eating. Sometimes people want a more leisurely meal, to sit down and be served. Sometimes people are on the go and want to try many different things in a short time for a decent price. There are brick and mortar places I would NEVER give up, and food trucks I feel the same about. I really don't understand local governments everywhere freaking out about the food truck revolution when its a good thing for the local economy.

First of all, "Tips" stands for "To Insure Proper Service", and was originally provided at the beginning of a meal to ensure a clean glass and silverware. It has evolved into an "expectation" of a percentage of the bill, no matter how great or poor the service.
With the rapid decline in customer service in most all industries across the United States, I truly believe people should never expect a tip just because they are employed in a historically tip-centered position.
But what really irks my nerve about this article, though, is the statement food trucks provide "no service beyond cooking". I've typically received the best interactions with food truck operators. They talk to me, offer suggestions, thank me for patronizing them. It's been great experiences, much better than restaurants. I expect and pay for good service, and I “thank” a person with a Tip. Sometimes that means you need to say more to me than "can I take your order".
