The Odessa Food Truck Rally Credit Mayor’s Food Truck Rally

Northdale and Carrollwood area residents who are tired of pulling kitchen duty in the evenings can grab some lawn chairs, load up the car and head to the Odessa Organic Farmers Market on Friday.

May 10 is the night for this month’s Odessa Food Truck Festival. The trucks roll in at 5 p.m. while the fun lasts until 9. Rollin Zoinks Truck, Holy Smokes BBQ, 3 Suns Bistro and other popular eateries on wheels all plan to be in attendance, according to the market’s Facebook page. Entertainment is also usually a part of the fun.

The market is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 10 and again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. It’s closed on Sunday in recognition of Mother’s Day.

If you love food trucks and helping out a good cause, Westchase Elementary School is where you’ll want to be on April 19.

The school welcomes the community to enjoy 10 food trucks with a wide variety of food to chose from. So far, the list is:

• Just Smokin’BBQ
• 3 Suns Organic
• Keen’n It Reel
• Renny’s Oki Doki
• Whatever Pops
• Enjoi Sweets
• American Wiener
• The Cheesesteak Truck
• Gone Bananas
• Gringos Burrito Box

Funds raised from the rally will benefit the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life Westchase, which is scheduled for 6p.m. on May 10 at Davidsen Middle School, 10501 Montague St. in Westchase.

Westchase joined the bandwagon, or rather food truck craze this year when the first Food Truck rally hit the neighborhood earlier this year.

Westchase’s first food truck rally was held on March 9. The food truck rally idea came to 16 year old Westchase resident Ben Weiner while he was watching the Travel Channel. Fifteen percent of the proceeds raised from the rally went to the American Heart Association.
