Four suspected gang members are arrested after police say they stole food from a catering truck and assaulted two people in Santa Maria late Sunday night.

The Santa Maria Police Department says the four men were caught stealing food from the catering truck in the 900 block of South Western. Police say the victim was beaten by the suspects when he confronted them about taking the food. Police say a relative of the victim tried helping but was also beaten by the suspects.

Police were able to track down the suspects inside a home. They have been identified as Isaiah Arroyo, 19, Shawn Alvarez, 19, Vincent Dominquez, 19, and Ector Cardenas, 18. Police say they are all members of the North West gang.
