William and Travis Miller are breaking the rules of food-truck dining.

Very soon, the brothers will have a dining room with air conditioning in addition to a covered patio with misters that easily drop the temperature 10 to 15 degrees.

This is food trucking with perks, which is exactly what the Millers had in mind when they leased the abandoned gas station at the corner of East 22nd Street and North Pantano Road and set up 22nd & Pantano Food Truck Court.

“To me this is an ideal situation,” said Travis Miller, who has been tooling around Tucson since last August serving cheesesteaks and burgers from the brothers’ Serial Grillers food truck.

Miller says 22nd & Pantano Food Truck Court is like having a brick-and-mortar restaurant without the overhead. He and his brother have opened the lot to other food trucks, inviting them to park alongside Serial Grillers. Among the trucks that have taken them up on the offer is BurgerRito and The Ritz Carlton Food Truck.

Meanwhile, the Millers are hoping to roll out their second food truck soon. They bought it in February and are renovating and equipping it.

On Monday they launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $15,000 for the build-out and remodeling.
